View from my window

Dear Reader,

A favorite, now defunct facebook group is View From My Window: https://www.facebook.com/groups/viewfrommywindow/. The group, popularized during the pandemic, offers real-world cultural connection as readers from around the globe share stories about what’s out their window.

For one of our first assignments, students were asked to share the same: What's out your window? What does this say about you culturally? How do you think the view outside of your window is different from the view outside of the window of someone in Brazil or Taiwan—the two countries we’re studying this semester?

Before the assignment launch, friends and colleagues wrote in to share their own views to share with students. Check out some of those views here.

Of course, we’d love to know where you’re writing from and what’s out your own window!

View From My Window

Here’s the view from my window. Inside: dinosaurs in various states of battle, pillows precariously perched, and a glass cage housing “Dinosaur” the carpenter bee—a one-winged bee rescue that my son feeds clover and honey.
