Making Bobo Tea
During our cuisine lesson with Taiwan, our class made Bobo or Bubble Tea—a popular Taiwanese drink made with tapioca balls.
To find out more about this popular drink’s origin, check out Food & Wine’s “A Brief History of Boba” (https://www.foodandwine.com/origins-of-boba-tea-6406857).
To make your own, you can buy a ready-made bobo kit or follow these simple guidelines. Note: If you’re local to Birmingham, we shopped at Hometown Supermarket & Chinese Restaurant (https://www.facebook.com/HometownSupermarketBHM/). While you’re there, check out the ping-pong tournaments in the back and order from Mr. Chen’s Authentic Chinese Cooking.
